Health Canada updated the Canadian Drinking Water Quality Guidelines in October 2014, which included revised guidelines for Ethylbenzene and Xylenes. To reflect these changes, Atlantic PIRI revised the Tier I and II screening level tables in Appendix 3 and 4 in January 2015. Furthermore, in September 2015, editorial changes were made to the screening level table footnotes and to a groundwater screening level for industrial land use. The values which have been changed are highlighted in blue.
At this time, Site Professionals continue to be responsible for updating the “Chem/Tox” database in the toolkit (when carrying out Tier II SSTL calculations for soil leaching to groundwater for potable water sites) until the Toolkit has been upgraded.
A technical bulletin has been created to provide step-by-step guidance on updating the Atlantic RBCA toolkit Chem/Tox database for Ethylbenzene and Xylenes.
